Lina Cardona

Manager, Membership Operations

Lina Cardona serves as the Membership Operations Manager for ABFE. She has been with the organization since August 2019. Lina holds a dual Master of Arts Degree in Global Studies & Sociology, from the Albert-Ludwigs Universität & FLACSO – Freiburg, Germany and Buenos Aires, Argentina and a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology and Film Production, from the City University of New York CUNY.

Throughout her professional career, Lina has been involved in multiple endeavors from government to documentary film making, she is devoted to social inclusion and civic participation. Prior to ABFE, Lina worked for the New Mexico State Legislature in the city of Santa Fe, for two State House Representatives, successfully assisting them in meeting all aspects of effective legislation processes.

From 2014 to 2017 Lina was a Project Coordinator for a data driven global social enterprise, YouthfulCities, devoted to recognizing ways to make global cities more youth-inclusive through policy and youth-led initiatives. She led the City of New York chapter, building and mobilizing a network of urban youth leaders to influence youth inclusive local policy.

Lina’s documentary making experience comes from her involvement with Jackson Films, a small production company based in New York, devoted to exposing stories about sexual abuse as part of armed conflicts in Latin America and Africa ; Take my Body out of War, (an unfinished work ) and The Greater Silence: Rape in Congo respectively. She was also involved as Production Assistant for Sex Crimes Unit, an unprecedented look inside the New York District Attorney’s unit dedicated to the prosecution of rape and sexual assault.
