Kisha is a proud Harlemite, born and raised, invested in restoration and change as exemplified by over two decades of service in The Third Sector. Working closely with arts-based, social services, and social justice organizations, she has launched and executed strategies that incentivize and mobilize the disenfranchised, toward eradicating barriers and creating opportunities.
A creative at heart, Kisha’s career includes theater – as an accomplished playwright whose works have been produced at the National Black Theater, Crossroads Theater Company and The National Black Theater Festival; and theater management, as Managing Director of Blackberry Productions for over a decade.
Kisha has engaged in programming, directing youth development – she founded and built Blackberry’s Youth Ensemble and for many years, ran the West Side Crime Prevention Program’s youth and senior programs; and administration—as Senior Associate at a boutique management consulting firm, Kisha conducted event planning and implementation, executed clients’ fundraising plans, and was a project manager.
Joining the ABFE family represents the next phase in her evolution as a change agent who thrives on the power of collaboration. Kisha looks forward to playing a role in developing programming that builds the capacity of those who have the most at stake to come together, under their own power, and develop skills and resources to deal with challenges in their families, communities, and the systems that serve them.
