Lina Cardona serves as the Membership Operations Manager for ABFE. She has been with the organization since August 2019.
Ms. Cardona holds a dual Master of Arts Degree in Global Studies & Sociology, from the Albert-Ludwigs Universität & FLACSO – Freiburg, Germany, and Buenos Aires, Argentina, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology and Film Production, from the City University of New York CUNY.
She has been involved in multiple endeavors from government to documentary-making throughout her professional career. She is devoted to social inclusion, civic participation, racial equity, and upward economic mobility for Black and Brown communities.
Before ABFE, Lina worked for the New Mexico State Legislature in Santa Fe. She successfully assisted in meeting all aspects of two effective legislation processes. From 2014 to 2017 Lina was a Project Coordinator for YouthfulCities, a data-driven global social enterprise that measures how youthful global cities are and recognizes ways to make global cities more youth-inclusive through policy and youth-led initiatives.
Her documentary-making experience comes from her involvement with Jackson Films, a production company devoted to exposing stories about sexual abuse as part of armed conflicts in Latin America and Africa. Lina believes in the powerful tool that film and documentary can be for educating and mobilizing the masses to advocate for important causes.
