ABFE Stands with Caribbean Philanthropic Alliance in Hurricane Beryl Relief Efforts
New York, NY – July 15, 2024
At ABFE, we stand with the Caribbean Philanthropic Alliance (CPA) as they respond to the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl. The earliest Category 4 storm ever recorded in the Atlantic recently devastated several Caribbean islands, particularly, Grenada, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Jamaica, and impacted countless lives. Although Hurricane Beryl also impacted the United States, we must not overlook the profound damage inflicted on our Caribbean brothers and sisters, whose suffering demands our continued attention and support.
ABFE is committed to supporting these relief efforts and emphasizes one of our 10 imperatives: to Reach to the Diaspora, underscoring the global impact of anti-Black racism and the importance of uniting philanthropic efforts to support Black lives during crises.
Our Response: The Caribbean Philanthropic Alliance and partners, including ABFE, are spearheading urgent relief efforts showcasing the collective power of the philanthropic sector and the critical role of philanthropy in response to disasters. This joint commitment is a call to action for the philanthropic sector: your support is critical.
Together we will raise awareness and actively mobilize our resources and network to provide immediate and effective aid, showcasing the impact of coordinated philanthropic efforts. Ways to take action:
